Guilford Adult Health Advances Oral Health of Underserved Adults in Greensboro, NC, with Grant from Delta Dental Foundation
Greensboro, NC (September 28, 2016) –Guilford Adult Health received a $3,000 grant from the Delta Dental Foundation to help provide the necessary supplies and equipment for a free adult dental clinic that offers diagnostic screenings and treatment to those in need.
More than one-third of Americans face serious challenges in accessing dental care. These challenges include: lack of insurance, prohibitive cost, too few providers, and mobility or transportation problems.[1] The Delta Dental Foundation focuses on ensuring that underserved North Carolinians receive high-quality oral health care.
Executive Director of Guilford Adult Health, Lisa Duck, said, “Delta Dental’s award presents us with an opportunity to educate and enhance access to oral health care services for our county’s uninsured adults by funding supplies, screenings, and scholarships.”
Guilford Adult Health’s dental mission is to provide accessible, affordable, and quality dental services to Guilford County, North Carolina residents with incomes between 0% and 200% of the federal poverty level. They offer comprehensive examinations, extractions, fillings, pain management, and some minor restorative care.
“Many communities across North Carolina face challenges with providing all citizens in need of oral health care the services they require,” Delta Dental of North Carolina CEO, Curtis Ladig, said. “The Delta Dental Foundation helps organizations like Guilford Adult Health address that need and close the gap between those with access and those without.”
